Draught and Displacement Surveys

The draught survey is the determination by measurement the vessels displacement before and after loading or discharging between these two displacements is the weight of cargo loaded or discharged.

These are normally conducted on behalf of shippers or receivers. We are however also called on by charterers and owners seeking to confirm this by independent means in order to resolve disputes such as may arise for a number of reasons.

In general, we only recommend this type measurement for determine the quantity of cargo loaded or discharged for large vessels due the considerable error-margin for smaller vessels in seaports.
